For Everything There is a Season: The Past

This post is the first in a series of three installments.

In the seven years that we’ve been on our little half acre homestead, there have been quite a few changes.

In 2015 we bought a small 1930’s house on a somewhat steep, rocky hillside of just under a half acre. We set to work making some major changes that included cutting down twenty-three trees that blocked the sunlight. We hauled in compost to make raised garden beds and set up a small microgreens grow area. My goal was to sell organic produce and microgreens at the Yancey County Farmers Market and that’s what I have loved doing for the past six years.

For those who have supported that effort I heartily thank you! It’s been wonderful chatting with you at the market and getting to know you.

Next installment: The Present.
