Two years ago:

Lots of useless lawn . . .

Today:

A new chicken coop in a shady area

Two years ago:

An old outbuilding –

Today:

A new greenhouse!

Two years ago:

Useless grass on either side of porch

Today:

 

Two years ago:

Trees shading future main garden . . .

Today:

Black raspberries, Stella cherry tree and garden beds . . .

Two Years Ago:

Nothing growing . . .

Today:

Even though The Happy Homesteader is NOT very good at before and after photos, you get the idea.  Slowly but surely, we’re turning this half acre of non-productive lawn into a sustainable homestead.  When I feel down about everything that still needs to be done, I take a look at where we started just two years ago and I feel a bit better.
