is a slight understatement.\u00a0 Just saw on the news that this area received an incredible 14 1\/2 inches of rain for the month of May.\u00a0 Yikes!\u00a0 Our calm little branch, which only runs when we&#8217;ve had a fair amount of rain, has been gushing water since February.\u00a0 There have been a few weeks where it was a gentle little trickle but, for the most part, it&#8217;s looked like this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thelittlehalfacre.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_0932-1-e1528035315519.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2038 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/thelittlehalfacre.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_0932-1-e1528035315519.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1000px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 150\/150;\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<figcaption class='wp-caption-text gallery-caption' id='gallery-1-2043'>\n\t\t\t\tAdded grass clippings\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>We planted in twenty gallon grow bags with 6&#8243; of soil and, as the potatoes grew, we added four more inches and then mulched with several inches of grass clippings.\u00a0 Some of the potatoes are starting to bloom. Yay!\u00a0 The Masquerade potatoes have purple and creamy skins and I will sell those at the market as an upscale product (and eat some too of course!)\u00a0 The Kennecbecs we&#8217;re not sharing with anyone and that&#8217;s final!!!<\/p>\n<p>The tomatoes are growing nicely as are the Savoy cabbages:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2019\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2019\" of winter squashes to add to our Winter CSA boxes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thelittlehalfacre.com\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/IMG_0946-e1528035905671.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\"
