<\/a>I know, I know, what kinda greenhouse you think you gettin’ for a hunnert bucks woman???\u00a0 Simple answer . . . one I can afford.\u00a0 Duh.\u00a0 It’s not gonna last forever, it’s not gonna be as large as I would like, it’s not gonna have the ventilation where it needs to be, etc etc etc.\u00a0 I repeat.\u00a0 ONE I CAN AFFORD.\u00a0 I would insert a smiley face here if I had emoticons cuz I’m not yelling.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0 And it’s not a bad little greenhouse.\u00a0 You can check the reviews on the link below.<\/p>\n

Okay, seriously.\u00a0 We’re on a very strict budget and I need lumber for seven more raised beds.\u00a0 A new chipper\/shredder would be nice to have this year because I need tons of wood chips and I can’t get any tree companies to deliver to me because we live at the end of nowhere.\u00a0 Also on the rather extensive 2017 list of purchases are lots of blueberries (established in pots, not bare root), blackberries (ditto), rasberries, honeyberries (ditto, ditto), cherry trees, peach trees, pear trees . . .<\/p>\n

And let’s not forget more shade cloth, row cover and tomato cages for protecting all those tiny, tempting, critter attracting plants.\u00a0 Oh yeah, I need a washing station for the gourmet salad blend I will be selling this year along with microgreens.\u00a0 Enough, right?<\/p>\n

The original plan was to build a pretty cool greenhouse based on a Youtube video<\/a> we watched.\u00a0 But, along with the $100+ for materials, there would be a lot of time involved for The Innocent Bystander (hubby) to build said greenhouse.\u00a0 And, as affordable as it would be, that Youtube greenhouse wouldn’t be a permanent solution either.\u00a0 So, when I did a little searching through Amazon, the above greenhouse looked pretty good all in all.<\/p>\n

I know the plastic won’t last forever but I think I can get two, perhaps three years out of it.\u00a0 The greenhouse will go at the very back of our little half acre.\u00a0 It will get a lot of sun in the fall, winter and spring, which is exactly when it’s needed.\u00a0 In the fierce summer sun, the greenhouse will only get about five hours.\u00a0 And, when the time comes, I’ll simply recover the frame with new greenhouse plastic.<\/p>\n

Yeah, I drool when I see lovely glass greenhouses (no polycarbonate because of all the off-gassing).\u00a0 And I’m sure there will be some off-gassing from this plastic.\u00a0 And, while fiberglass greenhouses are cool, you can’t see out.\u00a0 But still, all in all, I will be able to grow a great variety of winter vegetables with a lot<\/em> less work and hassle in my new 15′ x 7′ x 7′ ONE HUNDRED AND NINE DOLLAR greenhouse.\u00a0 : )\u00a0 Okay, had to find someway to put a smiley face in there cuz I’m not<\/em> yelling.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0 I promise.<\/p>\n
