Finally getting a few projects done here on the Little Half Acre. With 600+ seedlings waiting to go in the ground, it’s about time to get the work done and the weather is finally cooperating!
Putting up permanent trellises:
Still in the process of re-aligning the garden beds, hence the tape.
Some Oregon Sugar Snap snow peas are up about two inches and the rows of radishes and salad turnips in front of the trellises are doing well. Those trellises are “handy panels” that we got at Tractor Supply. They’re just under 5′ by 8′ which is pretty much perfect. There’s still some kale and spinach that survived our brutally cold winter this year and that are actually thriving. They were uncovered all winter but now they’re happily putting out new growth. Amazing!
Then there’s the rock terrace which may nott look like much, but:
It sure works on the sharp drop toward the creek. Some heat loving plants will go in there and – eventually – we’ll finish the top with some even stones so it looks a little less shabby. Well, that’s the plan anyway. Now on to all those little seedlings . . .
