Wow, it’s been an age since I’ve posted anything here at The Little Half Acre. Frankly, I got totally disgusted and quit when the photos I took couldn’t be rotated. Hey, let’s face it, most photos of growing things are going to be vertical, not horizontal. Yet somehow those photos would only post sideways. Sheesh.
The Innocent Bystander (hubby) assures me however that the problem has been rectified so here we go again…
Lots and lots has happened over the summer and fall so The Happy Homesteader will keep you entertained all winter by catching you up on the latest projects, failures, successes, failures, attempts, failures … you get the idea. We here on The Little Half Acre believe in re-doing our projects multiple times rather than just getting it right the first time! Whatever.
So here’s the biggie for 2018. We received a grant from the Western NC Ag/Options folks for $6,000 to convert the 10 x 20 shed on our homestead into an “official” microgreens growing room. Here’s The Happy Homesteader accepting that hunky-dory check! (Jeez, am I really that old???)
Those funds went very quickly but, in the end, we got a pretty nifty climate controlled building for growing microgreens. Now we’re in the process of hunting down some new and exciting markets. Stay tuned for more on that…
