Oh, you know . . . planting, digging, trenching, cutting, seed starting, potting up, pricking out, weeding, transplanting, fertilizing, pruning, carrying, hauling, building . . . I’m just completing a few tasks on my lengthy Spring “to do” list.
It’s been a month since my last post! When there’s nothing to do out on the homestead in the winter, there’s nothing much to write about. Of course, the opposite is equally true. So when the weather warms up, I’m outside working like a maniac. Once the workday is done, writing a blog post is just beyond me. Thanks for your patience though!
There are a few projects underway – the usual seeding, potting up, pricking out and transplanting into growing spaces continues at a pace. The potatoes and peas that were planted weeks ago are up:
The raspberries and asparagus have been planted in their new home and, to the right, a dwarf cherry tree sits in its new home where (hopefully) the juglone from a nearby walnut tree and the very partial shade will not adversely affect cherry production!
There’s lots more updates and photos but the sun has finally come out after a much needed rain so . . . the outdoors calls once more! Stay tuned!
