Sometimes you just aren’t in the mood for snow and gray skies. Sigh. But when I look out the back door at all the chores I long to start (if we ever get out of winter!) my eyes rest on something bright and cheerful and I find myself smiling in spite of a yucky day.
My sister-in-law is a very talented lady who recently retired. Looking around for something new and challenging and fun to do, she decided to apply her love for quilting to a new and different medium.
Barn quilts, or quilt blocks, have been around for a long time but they’re rapidly gaining in popularity and now you see them adorning barns, homes and out buildings everywhere. And now, thanks to a generous housewarming gift from this talented lady, I’m the proud owner of one of those colorful, eye catching works of art!
