Just One More Unfinished Project

Projects.  Lots and lots of projects.  Lots and lots of unfinished projects.  How does that happen???

It occurred to the Happy Homesteader (me), that what The Innocent Bystander (hubbie), calls Mount Suribachi (our hillside homestead), would be a lot easier to climb a hundred or so times a day (okay, I’m exaggerating), if there were a bunch of really nifty, flat stepping stones going up the steep hillside.

It’s quite true that there are many, many trips up and down the hillside each day because our growing space is so limited.  From the greenhouse at the top of “Mount Suribachi” to the raised beds outside the back door and down to the front of our half acre homestead is  about a 300 foot climb.  That’s a lot of heavy hiking by the end of a workday – so – stepping stone stairs!  Yep, just dig out all that rock hard red clay, carry heavy flat stones up or down the aforementioned Mount and put ’em in place.  Easy!  And just look how far we’ve gotten over the past three months:

Four whole steps!!!!  Only thirty-five or forty more to go!  At this rate, we’ll have it done in no time so stop by in three or four years (about how long it will really take) and check it out!
